Default Thermostat Question

So I ordered a thermostat from carlsbad-british on ebay. I explicitly asked for the cooler, 180 degree thermostat, oem.

What I received is in a LR box, pn PEM 100990, no G. Box looks authentic. The color looks to me to be the lighter color. The other numbers on the label are 69 8k3 A0990977 and GHBQA. The numbers on the thermostat are PA 66 GF30. Which thermostat do I have?

Also, it rattles if I shake it. Is that normal?

Thanks for the confirmation.

You received the 190 degree one, and there's never a G at the end of the part number for a Land Rover item, ever!

So, the one I received is the "hotter" one. My understanding is they are either 180 or 192.
Thanks,

I wonder if a 180 degree t stat sticky might be helpful? I plan to do this soon and yes, I've read Rave. But searching here to find a thread with detailed steps is not easy

Maybe a thread with all sellers of this t stat listed plus instructions and helpful tips? I bookmarked some threads with info but none really had the specifics. A thread like this May exist but I couldn't find it. We all have to do this sooner or later I think...

I need to buy a 180 t stat and I *think* only rovers north & lucky 8 sell them but I'm not certain.

I think an important part of that sticky should include the non-necessary but certainly game changing tool to get it done

How and where does that change the game? Tips like this can be really helpful, thanks.

There are 3 hose clamps down on the thermostat, they are a complete pain with regular pliers, these make it super easy
