Thinking about buying a Disco 2.....HELP!

RE: Thinking about buying a Disco 2.....HELP!
I sincerely think you can have a great D2 if you choose it wisely. Having a second vehicle is definitely a plus, for those hopefully very few times you might be in the shop with the Rover. After a little while, all the gremlins will have been fixed and you can relax and enjoy.
That's exactly what I did. I was planning on selling my Jeep after the purchase of the D2. Gremlins started coming out, so, I've postponed the sale andam fixingthe Discoone thing at a time, knowing that I'm not left stranded without a vehicle in the process.

Volfandan, if this new SUV was going to be your only vehicle, for both on and offroad use, I'd say that you'd probably be better off with the Disco. However, it sounds like you're planning to build up your yota for the serious offroad stuff. If that's the case, I'd probably lean towards the Land Cruiser.
When you're talking about offroad capability, I don't really think you can compare the two vehicles. The LR is simply designed and built with offroad capability more in mind than the Cruiser. IMO, the Land Cruiser is more ofan upscale soccer mom vehicle......for people whowant the biggest non-domestic pig they can get their hands on. That's not a knock on it. The fact is, it's probably a more comfortable/reliable daily driver (and still somewhat capable in mild offroad conditions).
As someone else mentioned, those Cruisers are big dogs. That said, they probably have great interior room and still probably have a better turning radius than the LR!!
