Default Thoughts on bedliner drip rails

I'm considering removing all the drip rails and tossing them because they're mostly shot—they all have cracks in them, or worse. The rear corner rails are already gone.

Options for replacement include 1) getting used ones, which doesn't address the fundamental durability problem because used plastic is old plastic, 2) buying a new set at ridiculously inflated prices ($100 for each of 7 pieces) or 3) something else.

This guy in this video (relevant part at 18m) painted them with bedliner, which didn't look terrible:

Any opinions, concerns or other options on this? I'm not concerned at all about actual rain because I live in the desert.

Pulled my trim completely off and the flares then taped and sprayed Duplicolor bed armour. I think it turned out fantastic. Super happy with the results.
