Thoughts on Blue Devil oil seal treatment for D2 front main seal etc leaks?
I appear to have a front main seal leak. Wondering if there are members here that have tried the Blue Devil Pour and Go Oil Stop Leak product. It gets a lot of positive feedback having worked for many users.
I would be interested in hearing from those who have actually used the product.
The base chemical is apparently Di-ethylene Glycol which is used in Urethanes, brake fluid, antifreeze, resins, and many more products.

I've actually got a new seal, plus oil pan gasket, front cover gasket, timing chain and timing gears.....but am in the middle of moving and don't have time,....and soon won't have a place to do the work.
Is it possible to just pull the dampner, pull/pry the seal and tap in the new one without any other work??

Yes, and you can Carefully thread a couple small wood screws into the seal, then pull on those with pliers.
Since the crank is still through the center of the seal, the seal won't always kick out on the opposite side when hitting it with a punch.
You'll also want a piece of pipe the right diameter to tap the new seal in with.
I would replace the studs on the timing cover with bolts too, whenever you get to that.

Check your HB pulley shaft, before wasting another seal. After I did that and it still leaked (oil loss was horrible, 1qt / 100mi), I found out that the shaft had a groove. If that is the case you need a new HB pulley or can try to fix it with a sleeve (costs one tenth of an HB pulley only).

To turn the crankshaft snout down in o.d to fit the sleeve, using a cranking or running engine to spin it, without actually removing the crank??
