Exclamation Three Amigos HELP!

Hey Folks -
I think I made a huge mistake. I have a 2003 Disco II SE with 85K and about 4 mos. ago both rear brakes pads/shoes were grinding a bit and had to get them replaced and MISTAKENLY took it to Midas. Now, every time I start the truck, ABS light is on, then when I drive past 10mph I get the 3 Amigos + E-Brake. I've done numerous searches on the Amigos and know theres a lot of stuff written up on this, and best fix (and cost effective) I found was to get the ABS Amigo V1 USB. It came in the mail the other day and it worked just as described. It wiped the codes and this is what it states: (I ran it 3 times)...

-----ABS Amigo Box V1 RSW Solutions LLC Copyright 2010-----

Problem now is, when I start the car after running the ABS Amigo, no lights, but as soon as I hit 10mph - ALL LIGHTS again (TC, HTC, ABS & E Brake) pop on. I'm at a loss and don't know what else to do. I thought I read somewhere that it could just be a loose wheel hub - but unsure how to tighten. Additionally, I'm assuming that the error code 045:Rear Left sensor output low - means the drivers side rear left. Any thoughts... Please help!!!!

So, never go to Midas for brakes cause they are terrible and tend to squeak and make lots of dust which will also cause the lights to come on.
For starters, you need to inspect/clean and test the rear sensor, if bad, replace it, clear the codes and see what happens next.

Ha, this is easy.
Move the rear sensor outward toward the wheel.
Just tap it out carefully.

Crawl under the rover and get a small phillips screw driver and
put the phillips against the sensor - but not on the wire.
Ever so gently tap it.
It should slide in toward the wheel hub and it will hit the wheel hub.
That's OK.

And, then you are done.
This will increase the output as the sensor activates via a magnetic field.

This is how I do it with the Discovery I on the rear wheels.
I bet the Discovery II for the rear wheels is exactly the same.
I would need to crawl under our Discovery II but I am too lazy and I am actually dressed up for the moment.

TO clarify-
You do not take off the wheel.
You crawl under the rover like a stray cat.

You are pushing the sensor OUTward toward the outside when you are under the rover where the differential is.

You are looking at the wheel from UNDER the rover where a cat could go.

cat fits in there well.
I don't.

Sorry Jfall- I believe I did what you mentioned by pushing in (outward toward the outside wheel) the sensor. I used the ABS Amigo to wipe the code and got all 4 lights on once I hit 10mph. Maybe I'm not doing what you've explained. I'm attaching a photo of the inside (underneath the rover) of the wheel. I've circled what I believe is the sensor of what I pushed in. Please describe in detail. Please Help!!!

I feel like the sensor changed from DI to DII. IIRC, the sensor is a part of the hub bearing cartridge, where as on the DI it was just pushed into a rubber bushing until it was within range of the tone ring mounted to the inside of the rear disc.

Don't know if you still need this info leo, but just in case, and for the sake of anyone else who might read this thread for this issue - you need to remove the wheel and the disc. The sensor is held in by a single allen screw, but IIRC it is not accessible unless you remove the brake disc. You'll see it very clearly. When you pop it out, don't be surprised if it is utterly gunked up wtih flakes of rusted metal etc. You'll want to clean it off and get as much of that out of the hole as possible. I am waiting on a replacement sensor so will take some pics when I take it off so it will be here for the next person if you don't still need it.

cheers
