I changed the shuttle valve, computer said I need right rear abs sensor so I did the whole hub assembly, I drove without the lights for a little while and the lights came back on. What's next? Pissed off

 

Be like me and continue to be pissed off that they came back on after unhooking the batter jus tot install a new battery tray. F&$@ing stupid.

Sorry, that was unproductive, but take solace in that you are not alone.

The only productive thing I can add is that you would need to do the solder in type of sensor and according to GBR, have to get some hot rod expensive brand.

 

Or do the bypass like most of us

 

What ABS code is it throwing now? You said the computer said you needed a right rear ABS sensor. Did that code come back? If so you need to revisit that.

You say you change the shuttle valve. Does that mean you had a shuttle valve fault, or you just took a stab in the dark?

Does the truck have a shuttle valve code now? If so it's time for the Option B bypass. The printed circuit problem that can lead to a shuttle valve fault being detected is unfortunately not solved by a new shuttle valve. It is solved by the Option B bypass.

 

Just changed the SV thinking that could be it. I'll have them reconnect to diagnose computer and see what it says. I don't have CDL so I am worried about not having ABS and TC & Down Hill Assist for Off-Roading

on option b and haven't had a lick of trouble. My fault was originally a shuttle valve failure and replaced with a new one and they still came on. I didn't have any fluid on the shuttle valve so I knew it wasn't leaking and it was computer related so option b fixed me right up

 

I've written this before here, as have others, but the word "bypass" in the Option B description can be misleading. It's not the ABS/traction control/hill descent control system that is being bypassed, it is only a failed solder joint buried deep within the modulator body that is being bypassed. FULL ABS, etc. function is not bypassed, it is restored.

 

Well said mln. And yep I knew that to be the case. However, mine has come on again for some BS reason. I decided to finally put in a new battery tray a while back and when I disconnected the battery the damn Amigos came back. I think it's a wheel speed sensor, but just a stupid PITA from a total $h!t system. Man, if my wife's RRS pulled that crap, it would be gone the next day.

I need to get the full on scanner to read which sensor it is and go from there.

 

If I do the option B, will abs, TC and Downhill assist still work?
