The three yellow lights on my dash board
Got my rig running, took it for a little drive. I have those three yellow lights on, guess they are tied together. I have an Ultra Gauge, have not plugged it in yet, do not see anything in the instructions about reading brake codes. I know very little about the electronic cars of today. Are the brake system electronic controls (codes) available on the ORBII Ultra Gauge or does it only address engine functions?

I bought an OTC code reader that reads ABS and SRS. Hooked it up could not find any thing about ABS. Called OTC technical service, they said Land Rover will not share their ABS and SRS access to do-it-yourself code readers like you get at NAPA and Summit Racing. They said you have to go to a professional shop to get those read.

I found a local shop in town that read my ABS and SRS codes for me. Nice young man. Would not take any money. He gave me his experience on what these codes pointed to. He gave me advise: Said as soon as I get all the yellow light problems repaired: " sell it" because there will be more very soon! This rig is in very nice condition high miles but no rust, the electrical connections have no corrosion. Do these rigs have a lot of electrical problems like the Lucas reputation?

Did he give you the exact error code(s)? Because there are something like a dozen (or more) scenarios that can cause these issues. Most of them are relatively simple to fix. However, you might want to think carefully if you're not going to work on it yourself.
These vehicles are only really prone to issues if you don't maintain them. Sometimes that maintenance can be costly; most of the time it's relatively cheap and sensible. You might want to take some time to read some of the threads on this forum to learn more about the common issues. Also check out the sticky at the top of the forum for common fixes and maintenance items.

I probably would not of bought this rig, my wife found it for our son to give to him. She knew I could fix it. He likes my Land Cruiser and she saw those are real expensive so she thought the Land Rover would fit the bill till he gets my Land Cruiser.
Well I am glad to hear that they are reliable if taken car of. My impression is that the original owners took pretty good care of it. I can not find any sign of a serious wreck. They took real good care of the upholstery. Under the dash it looks brand new. The under hood impression is everything looks very low millage except for the plastic items which prove the 180,000 miles is probably correct.
I do all my own work. I am to picky to trust someone else. I was a heavy equipment mechanic for 40 years so I know my way around the shop.
The insulation on my shuttle valve wiring looks almost new. I did option B that is the ground repair. That did not fix my 3 Amigos. I am in the house and my code sheet is out in the shop but one of the wheel sensors is not working and there are two other codes that I do not remember. But I am glad to hear they are easy to fix. All those yellow light have to be off to get it licensed in California where my son lives.
All indications are the clock spring is bad. My ignition switch should be here tomorrow so now is the time to repair both of those. Maybe that will get my cruise control and horns working and my SRS red light will turn off.
I copied down all the codes and their explanation from his code reader.
I had it up to 70 mph the other day and it drives real nice, quiet and a lot of power for only 240 CI and a lot of weight.

When you did the ABS repairs did you have the codes cleared? Without clearing the SLABS unit of faults = no matter if the entire system is brand new it still won't remove the 3 Amigo warning lights or enable ABS/TC/HDC. Once you get the ABS sensor fixed have the codes cleared. When the system is cleared you'll know as when you do a restart after clearing the faults the ABS light itself will come on and stay on. Then you drive the D2 a short distance and once the SLABS unit see's activity from the wheel sensors the ABS light will go out and you are good to go.
