Throttle Body Gasket
Well, my throttle body gasket is leaking as well. I read throught the post before this one about bypassing it vs. replacing the gasket. I am wanting to just replace the gasket personally. But that is beside the point. What I am wanting to know is where can you find the gasket? I saw where everyone was saying it's a 5 dollar fix and 10 minutes to replace it. But I have called the dealership and they told me that you have to replace the whole thing, that you can't get the gasket seperately. Are they lying to me? Or is there somewhere else to look? Let me know because they were telling me it would be 125 dollars to replace the throttle body and another 130 to replace the hoses if I chose to do so. But I would prefer to buy the gasket for five bucks and replace it myself. Which also leads me to the question of how difficult is it to replace it? I am no master mechanic but I am pretty good with my hands, so just curious is this something I could figure out and do myself, or would it be safer to leave it to the pros for 60 bucks an hour?
Don't be a tight wad, never pays with a Rover. Either go buy the complete $25 kit or by-pass the system by joining the two hoses together which is what I did.
