I switched to Peak 50/50 about 20,000 miles ago. I have already replaced a badly damaged Thermostat housing, so hopefully this gasket is just some left over damage from the dexcool.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is just left over damage from the Dexcool, but it could also be the hose leaking (spraying coolant on the underside of the plate). I would clean it, follow the instructions for replacing the gasket, and after checking the hoses for cracks replace the clamps with worm gear clamps.

With the upgraded gasket and everything cleaned and torqued correctly you really shouldn't get a leak again any time soon.

Spike,

Does that gasket substitute for the one that comes with the kit? It's got a different bolt hole pattern, but I'd prefer to spend $3, over the $25 I spent for the whole kit if it fits.

thanks,

That is not the gasket that is the throttle body gasket itself, you need to buy the kit or make your own gasket with gasket material or just try some RTV.

Got it. I was a little confused. Thanks for clearing that up.

Default Throttle body

I have a throttle body gasket weak on my 99 disco II. I followed the rave instructions and removed the four bolts on the throttle body housing in order to turn it on its side. The throttle body housing will not come loose! Any ideas? Please help!

you dont need to pull the TB you can replace the throttle body heater with a 5.5 mm wrench.
If you dont have a 5.5mm wrench look for a FORD ingition module tool from 80-95
