Default Throwing code p0327

Anyone have an idea what this is. Also, what do you think the repair would be and cost.

Its a 2000 land rover discovery series II I am considering to buy. The Service Engine Soon light was on and we read the codes and thats the one that came up. He said it goes on and off. Is it something i should be worried about?

its usually accompanied with an o2 code on trucks when people dont use premium fuel. baiscally means the engine timing is screwed up cuz the guy was cheap and wouldnt put the proper 91+ octane in it. if he can't put the right fuel in the damn thing it would seriously make me think twice about what else he neglected on that truck.

what is he asking for it? what is the mileage? have you test driven other rovers?

It actually means the drivers side knock sensor is send a very weak signal which can effect the time and performance of the engine.
How many miles on it, what is the rest of the truck looking like and what are they asking for it?

it is an 00 disco series II. 1 owner with 96K on it. Great condition, no accidents and clear title. Just head the head gaskets and valve gaskets done, new spark plugs and spark plug wires. New pulley and tstat as well. Drove great minus those 2 codes. All accessories are working properly as well minus the heated seat on the driver side doesnt work. He is asking $6700. Also has newer tires along with pads and rotors. What do you guys think? its a dealer who has it now that got it from an auction. He said the light just went on but goes off and on. Hes been driving it for 2 months.

sounds very expensive to me. i just bought a 01 d2 with 95k on it for $1,000 that needed head gaskets but everything else worked. Head gaskets are a weekend worth of DIY or $1200 at a mechanic. I also just saw a 99 d2 with 94k for $2,300 same thing needed HG. stay away from used dealerships they usually try to sell for a premium. check out a site like www.searchtempest.com

yes it will need to be addressed if that is what you are asking.... at the very least it will cause poor fuel consumption, at the worst it will cause cylinder burn, gaskets to fail and destroy the engine from the inside out.
