My 2+ years of Rover ownership have certainly been eventful. Following the failure of my power steering pump on the way home from work Wed. I've decided to get that fixed and sell the beast. We just bought a new home close to public transportation and are going to consolidate down to one car. How much do you think I should ask/could get for a stock 2004 Disco II with 58,xxx miles, no rust, interior is in great shape in the DC Metro area?

It's been a frustratingly great experience, but I have to pick the car that is more reliable.

 

Sorry to hear. For an 04 SE with that mileage (depending on options and history) you should be able to get 13-16K. The average dealer price for that car is around 15-16, and the auction prices look to be around 13. So, depending on how clean you could expect 14ish.

 

Maybe realistically a bit lower... just looked at some new numbers. Coming out of winter will push the price down and rising fuel will push the price down. Maybe the 10-12 range is more on par looking at auction prices and current retail.

 

The rising fuel costs is going to hit our vehicles really hard. Those of us that love them no matter what will still drive them but for many buyers they will pass. If you have liked the truck then try to keep it, the problems do not last forever. Good luck.

 

Bouht my '03 Disco on Ebay during the last $4.50 per gallon fiasco a couple of years ago for a song: 36K mi., mint condition, FLA car, $12,500.
If I was trying to sell it I'd sell it asap, as gas prices may hit $5 this summer with no end to Middle East upheavals in sight.

You've got good miles. Dont go any lower than 12,500. You could always sell to a specialty reseller.

 

agreed 12-13 is a fair price for that mileage.

Thanks for all of the replies--that's a little higher than I expected to hear. My engine suffers from the "Rover Tick." Will that scare away potential buyers?
