Default Tightened thottle cable cruise stopped working.

Took some slack out of my throttle cable and cruise cable now my cruise doesnt work. Only other thing i did before driving it and discovering it no longer worked was disconnecting the battery and installing a new starter. Worked fine before. Pulled vac pump and checked hoses all seemed good fuses good horn still works. Any ideas?

Well thats annoying. Turns out it was because i unhooked my 3rd brake light because the housing came loose from the window. If i plug tye bulb back in the cruise works fine.

That's way too much gap. Max is 1.5mm, not 4.5mm. Cruise may be herky jerky as the computer attempts to apply throttle and the delay makes it apply more and vice-versa.

i swaer when i looked it said 4.5-5 which i thought was to much also. Its basically in the same spot as it was when i tightened up my throttle. My cruise is a little wonky. Guess ill go tighten that up and remount my brake light

Yes it was wider in the manual, but I'm 99% certain there was a TSB especially for 03-04 with the 4.6L that said adjusting it to 1.5-2.5mm of a gap kept the CC from surging up/down when first engaged. 99-02 with the 4.0L it wasn't as noticeable. I've always set them to that gap & since cables stretch I check them regularly on my D2's. I like a smooth crisp throttle response and clean CC engagement.
