Tips on cleaning engine
I finished replacing the radiator and heater hoses, thermostat, and did an oil change. I would like to clean the engine now that I am done. The engine is actual pretty clean but I would still like to clean it so that it is easier to spot any leaks in the near future. If anybody has tips on the best method and cleaner to use let me know, thanks.
High pressure, cold water does surprisingly well. I cover my fuse box and ABS mod to keep any over spray from getting into the more 'sensitive' places. Simple Green is a good safe degreaser if you've got a lot of grime, don't use anything too harsh or it will eat your seals.
Let the engine heat do the work. Just be aware there might be some steam.
D2's love water, unless you still have the grey factory plug wires, if you do, it may misfire for a couple of minutes till they dry out.
Use cold water only, most soap solutions can and will get into your electrical connections and cause problems later on down the road.
When done, no need to wait, start the engine and go.
