Default Tire PSI

I know what the inside sticker on the door says for stock tires. But I just put on a new set of 245/75/16 Wardens from Treadwright.com

The side of the tire says 80 PSI max. The guys that mounted them filled them to 35 PSI. What do you guys suggest?

I run 265/75-16's [Max tire rating reads 80psi. Sidewall = Load Range E]

I'm at 40 front / 42 rear. They look a little squishy, but ride nice.

Try them at 35psi for a week. Then try them around 40psi.

35 isn't nearly enough. The guys that mounted them are idiots. You need to be at around 60 with a stock Discovery on those tires.

I'd like to hear what everyone else is running.

Post your tire size and pressure front/rear.

I tried 40 front and 42 back, drove about 20 miles. It was smooth. Then I read Street Wolf's post and tried 60 all around. You definitely feel every crack in the road at that PSI. I'll probably try 50 tomorrow.

If you are running 8 or 10 ply tires, 35 to 40 all the way around is perfect considering our factory tires were rated as a 2 ply passenger tire. 60 pounds, besides beating you to death will wear the center tread off the tire.
Also, you can air them down to 18 pounds of pressure when off road with the exception of 18" tires and you really don't want to go under 24 pounds or you can cut the side walls out of them in the rocks.

running 265-75-16's Normal running 40 all around. highway runs 45 all around off road varies depending on terrain.

At higher pressures I get some cupping.

Checked my front end as well as had pep boys check it...nothing.

Running what the sticker says.

Your tire cupping is not from higher pressure, it is only caused, in the case of a Disco, by warn out shocks/springs and or lack of tire rotations.
Running at the factories numbers will give you a smother ride, more tire wear and less MPG.
