-i do not do serious off roading, but would like to start doing more. my truck is stock.
-i do lots of camping and i throw my canoe up top.
-i live in minnesota and i drive it a lot in the winter.
-i currently have 18' scorpions on them.

My certified '03 Disco came with new Michelin 4x4 XPCs. They have been great on the Colorado snow/ice this winter and spring, and have been just fine on the highway as well. I like how they look on the vehicle as well - not boring light truck tiresand nottoo aggressive looking either.

nitto terra grappler is a good tire. it comes in the stock 255/55/18 size and does very well in snow.

Anyone have an opinion on the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVOs?

I picked up a set and they look nice for an AT type tire. I'm waiting to mount them until after I've sorted out a bent track rod -- preferably upgrading some steering bits in the process so it might be a few weeks until I can spare some cash. I'll report back later, but if anyone has opinions let me know.

I really like both of those tires for 18" wheels. Check with Discount Tire and Costco for best pricing.

So if I am going to go on some camping trips that will take me off road this summer...and a long trip from Minnesota to the Land Rover Rally in Coloroado (where I will go on some trails in the mountains) you think that the Nitto Terra Grappler would be a good choice?

I put Yokohama Geolanders on my 03 about a month ago. They've got a mileage warranty and are very quiet. They've done great in all the rain we've had and have performed well in the wet grass/light mud I've been in.

They're cheaper than most other tires and have a mileage warranty - that's what sold me, that and all the great reviews they get.

I bought 2 sets of General Grabber G2 (I think thats the name) for both of our '03 & '04 Discoverys (16 & 18" wheels). They have aggressive tread but a re surprisingly quiet and good in the rain as well as the New England winter. Good price too.
