Default Tire Size

Im lifting my Disco in the next week or so and curious about what tire size others are running with a 2" lift. I have stock 18" wheels on my 03 Disco II. I might replace wheels too, but will likely stay with 18" even if I go aftermarket wheels..

Thanks

I think the general consensus is 275/65R18s with either nitto terra grapplers or Goodyear wrangler tires. I already have the lift, just waiting for my stock tires to wear down a little more before going with one of those...

Sometimes you just cannot wait!

I had a set of nearly new, stock size Yokohama Geolanders when I bought my 255/85R16 BFG Mud Terrain KM2.... but at least I can put the stock tires on my 99....

18" tires are the most expensive tires compared to 16's. 16's will give you a far better ride, last longer, run much better on sand, offer you 2 or 3 times more tire selection and cost $60 to $80 a piece less.
Just remember what ever tire you go with, the larger the tire the lower your torque and MPG.

This is a great point, however I always thought it was overall diameter of the tire is what made the difference not the size of the wheel... 16" vs. 18" wheel did not matter if the overall diameter of the tire was the same...

Maybe Im wrong?

I run 275/65/18 bfg AT K/O's with a 2 inch terrafirma lift. I could go with 285/65/18 and it would need a little bit of trimming. Check the link in my sig if you want to see the pictures.

This is pretty much the look Im going for...

I could go without the roof rack but I really like the sort of "trophy truck" look of the front of the truck. The front bumper is sweet but I would like to see something more "pre-runner-ish" looking with some huge fog lights on it.... sort of like the Fabtech Motorsports front bumper...

I originally ran the TerraFirma 3" HD kit with 285-65-18 Nitto Trail Grapler MT. I now have the RTE 4"+ lift with the same tires. If I was going to do a 2-3" lift I would stick to a 32" tire. The 33" tires are just too tight on the 2-3" lift.

Does anyone know what kind of front bumper that is? It looks like a safarigard without the light bar. I like it.
