Default Tire size preference with 2" lift

Sorry in advance, I know there is tire threads out there but i'm a bit confused!
My suspension is toast, 165K. I just ordered the Terrafirma medium 2" springs and shocks. Now for tires. I will be doing 90% highway driving this winter. I live 1 hour north of Toronto. I'm looking for a good snow, ice winter tire.
1. - Is it best to keep on the narrow side with 255 width? BTW I have 16" rims.
2. Is 75 my limit for height?
3. What size and make do you all recommend?

Thanks.

Ideally narrower than 255, I would do 225/235.

First, tell us about the road conditions, how much snow and ice do you normally get?

We get more ice than snow actually. I rarely see more than 6' of snow but it's constantly melting and refreezing around here, so ice is a major factor.

Thanks Mike, the Duratracs are on my short list. I know they're great in deep snow, but not sure how they handle ice. I'm really interested in the Yokohama Geolander I/T. They're on sale near by. Any experience with these?

No, I have no experience with them, have heard a number of people talk them up, not sure what they were using them for though.
Are you looking for a year round tire or just a winter tire?

Just winter, I drive 6 hours on highway each weekend. Picking up and dropping off the kids.

Michelin LTX M/S2. 235/85R16's
245/75 is a good size too but you don't really want an all terrain tire for all the highway driving you do.

A narrow 32" tire will be excellent.
