Seeking some advice from the experts.....

I am the original owner of a '96 Disco w/ 105K miles. I am on my second set of OEM specd Michellin 235/70R/6XPC. Needless to say, my current tires are ready for replacement.

Here are my questions:

1. What other tire options do I have?

2. Will a wider tire fit my Disco? Brands? Resulting handling changes?

3. Is there a less expensive alternative to the standard Michis with comprable performance?

98% of my driving is done on city streets and freeways in Southern CA.
