Default TIRES

OK guys, can anyone tell me if I can get away with putting 215 60 16's on my Disco 1?
The stock size is 235 70 16. I have a set of Blizzac's that I bought 5 years ago for a different car and never used the tires. (bought them in the spring on sale)
If I can use them I will put them on in Dec. and then take them back off in late March.
I have tried to sell them but the tire shops will only give me $50 for a $800 set of never used rubber.

your speedo will read fast and your truck will look weird with a tire 3" smaller than stock., but if the tires are rated for the weight of the disco, there shouldnt be any problems.

You get MPG? I get GPM. I can put up with alittle less MPG for three months knowing that I can go anywhere and still stop when I get there.
OK, the Bridgestone's have a weight rating of 1521lbs at 35psi.
So I should be good to go for snow right? The hard part will be getting someone to install them for me.

That is a pretty cool calculator.
It says that my speedo will be off by 5mph. And since it is already off by 5mph with stock size tires it will then be 10 mph fast.

So if I wanted to go to a junk yard and buy steel rims what would I look for? S-10, Ford Ranger, F-150...what rims fit a Disco 1?

Do you have a D1 or a D2, makes a difference, D1's are a 5 on 5.5 where theD2's are a 5 on 120mm.
What state do you live in?

the bolt pattern is 5 on 6.5". if you go to a junk yard for wheels, the only ones that will fit are from d1s, d90s, or rrcs. i looked up the load rating for the stock tires and they are 2039 lbs. if i were you, id sell those blizzaks on craigslist or ebay and buy something else.
