I have had Yokohama Geolanders for 5k now and I love them. They're quiet, they do well off road (not real extreme), and they havea 60k warranty for tread life.

Good Year was the only tire that gave Rover owners alot of grief.
Before I got rid of my 18" wheels, upgrading to 16"s, I found that Bridgestone mae some great tires, BFG is also great, stay away from Perelli.

I really liked the BFG's and the Dunlops had some nice tread designs ...
they tried to sell me some Nokians , $350 for set of four never heard of them before ...
The Dunlops get a $50 rebate and a set of serengheti sunglasses as well as the bogo ...$480
BFG's get a $50 gas card as wellas the bogo ...$500

I posted about this before recently, but check out tirerack.com. I put general grabber UHP tires on my truck recently. Hadn't heard of them before, but the reviews are insanely good, the tires are cheap and they are awesome. Really quiet, handle great. They're summer / sport truck tires, but even this past winter in 6 inches of snow and parking on mounds of ice in the city I never had to so much as turn my diff lock on.

Goodyears- junk, all of them
Dunlop - eh
Yokohama - Never run them but I've heard good reviews on the geolanders

I got the Nexen HP 255/55/18. They're mostly for road use but I dosome sand driving on the beach and they're well-suited for that, too. They're wear rated at 460, and are rated high for heat and load as well. They've got a wicked cool tread design, very quiet, and don't cost much.

Well I stopped by the local Firestone , He had a set of Bridgestone Dueler HP's They were $330 Each ... Due to the fact they were in stock too long they were on a "slow moving list" ... The manager gave me a "deal" on them at $109 a tire plus mounting and balancing (I added the road hazard for $60) ... Sweet tires never realized how loud the Badyears were ...

I have had a set of General Grabbers for over 50K miles, and I like them a lot. They are stock tires on the Nissan Pathfinder - a friend of mine has one. I would recommend them.

Maybe I don't know what a good tire is... but a few thousand miles ago, Ihad the new Goodyear Fortera "Silent Armour" installed on my Disco and they've been great.

Look great too.
