Tires with D2 Terrafirma lift Kit
Got my springs (HD) and shocks (+2") in yesterday from Lucky 8. Now im looking at tires. Justin said it will be closer to a 3 inch lift and considering my stock springs and shocks are shot it could be nearly 3 1/2" that I gain. I'm rolling on stock 255/65/16's right now. I'm looking at going to either a 285/75/16 or a 305/70/16 the diameter of tires would go from 29.1" with the 255/65 that im running now to 32.8" with either the 285/75 or the 305/70. about 2 1/2" in rubber difference.
I want to know what anyone is running that has installed the D2 TF kit on their rig. What size did you go with and how do you like the fit? thanks.
FYI I am in between these two.

Spence what are you running now? what lift do you have? Am I mistaken but i think the 285/75 and the 305/70 are nearly the same. they both have sidewall that is 8.4" and a diameter of 32.8"
i def don't want the 235/85 those are thinner than the stock tires even thugh they are 2.5" taller than stock.... the other one you mentioned the 255/85 are the tallest of all mentioned. at 33.1" how do you not get rubbing on 255/85's but you do with 285/75's??

so Biking that is a 31.6" tire you are running the tire i was lookin at is another 1.2" taller so it will require some trimming. I planned on trimming the front and back bumpers wonder if i flip the rims inside out that will keep it off the bump stops so the next question is the fender flares at full articulation and the front drive shaft hitting the cross member...

The inside sidewall of 285's rub on the radius arms when turning with stock wheels. 305's are way to wide, unless you get ginormous bolt on spacers or new wheels. You can't flip wheels inside out, thats just silly talk.Talk to Justin, he has a new line of steel wheels he carries. Your also may need to do some trimming on the front bumper to clear the 285's. I've been debating between 265 and 235's. If you recall, Jill has 235's on her disco, and she did just fine. I actually prefer the tall skinnys, they tend to do better in snow. Also, my shaft tapped the crossmember at Rausch, so next time i'm under there, the crossmember is coming out. I was going to do it before Rausch, but I stripped one of the bolts, and didn't have time to cut it off.

didnt you look at Brians truck? he flipped his wheels inside out and i heard someone say oh i like your rims...he said all i did was flip the stock inside out and i think he flat blacked them. not sure if that affects the strength in any way but he def gained some space.
what was Jill running? 235/85? because 235/75 is only about 1/2" bigger than stock. Brett just ordered some Kuhmo 265/75 which are nearly 2" taller than Jill's so he better be going crazy at ROTR. i might go with the 285/75 i plan on trimming the front and rear bumpers (eventualy getting a new rear) and removing the rear sway bars then going to have to inspect and possibly remove the cross member and get some TW shafts front and rear.
