Tires Tires Tires
I have a 2000 DSII currently with Michelin 4x4 255/65-16. I like the tires there has always been a little road noise but they got me around in the snow very well when new. They don’t make the Michelin 4x4 any longer so I'm looking to hear what other people are running for tires. I want something that is going to be good on the highway(not too noisy) all year long but also be able to get me to the mounting driving 2 plus hours in a snow storm or out the next morning after 2 feet of snow fall overnight. Currently Michelin is selling a LST for crossover vehicles says it good for light snow. Not sure that’s what I’m looking for.
Any thought greatly appreciated.

I run the Cooper Discoverer S/T on both my Rover and my cargo van and they get me around in the snow just fine.
They are a very aggressive tire with not alot of road noise, great in the rain, sand, snow and mud.

I'm a big fan of my General Grabber A/t2... They do great for me off road, and they're quiet on road for an A/t tire. I live in the South, so snow is rare. Someone else with the grabbers will have give you a snow review. Def a good tire to consider.
Hey Spike, I have the same tires on my D2 in the 255-70-16 size, they are actually very loud in my opinion, they do however wear well, and do fine offroading. I am in the process of looking for 265-75-16 MT tires at this time.
I am on my second set of Firestone Destination LE's. They are quiet, and I can push snow over the front bumper. That said, they don't really like ice. Good all around tire. I am going to the Dunlop Rover RT, or the General Grabber AT2 next time for the severe weather rating.
