Default it took a while but got the codes

It took me a little longer than I thought it would, but I finally got around to getting to my local stealership to have my codes read. Short recap: i replaced the left front hub assembly and changed my front discs. After the work, I was (and still am) treated to the full-time company of the three amigos. A C-note to the Rover guys yielded the following codes: 4114 (shuttle valve) and 4046 (LIF flange). They cleared the codes for me, but they said the shuttle valve code would come back until I fixed the ABS. The lights did come back on - as the shop said. Can any of you tell me exactly what these codes mean and how I might go about fixing the problems? The dealership wanted $1302 to fix the ABS shuttle valve issue. Is that legit? Can I fix this for less? Any help is appreciated.

There is a suttle valve repair kit at www.atlanticbritish.com for $500?
$1300 just seems steep to me.

Thanks. Is this shuttle valve repair kit something that a fairly competent shadetree mechanic could do to his own vehicle without too much danger of mucking something up on the ABS?

From what I understand a DIY'er can do it. I have never done it, but have heard that it is pretty easy to do.
Make sure that you buy the good repair kit, not the cheap one.
Before you dive into that check www.roverlandparts.com for a good used shuttle valve, then it is just a drop in replacement.

I'm pretty sure the stealership considers the shuttle valve a "non-serviceable" part and will only complete the job by replacing the whole ABS module. If you do a good search, someone on here did the whole writeup last year with pics and everything on the shuttle valve kit replacement. If I can find it I'll post it.

Thanks guys. My father and I just finished putting in my new heavy-duty greasable front driveshaft a few hours ago. Hopefully that will be fine and it will be on to another item. I will check on the different options you listed for the good used valve or the good valve repair kit. Jdelp, if you can find that thread/link and post it, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Jdelp, I did a search and actually found where you posted that link for someone else. I looked over the pics and bookmarked the page. I also sent an email to roverlandparts to see what they have. I will attempt this work on my own.
