Default Top 5 Disco issues that'll strand you (other than head gaskets / front driveshaft)?

just curious, once these 2 are done, what other common issues are out there that could leave us stranded? Top 5 or?

i could see that...if i can't roll the window up or lock the door on a potential car jacker i would be stranded!

That thought has crossed my mind haha - I always forget to "manually" lock my passenger door after using it.

NOT HALF as bad as arming/locking your car and walking up to it, forgetting it's "locked" and yanking the passenger door open (which of course didn't ACTUALLY lock itself, but the security system thinks it did!) soooo yeah I woke up my entire neighborhood at 8AM last week with a blaring horn for what seemed like an eternity. Got in, closed door, put key in ignition.. nadda, ignition was disabled as well. Re-arming it silenced it for a few seconds, then it went off again. I had to stick my head out the driver window and put the key in the door and rotate to unlock it and disarm the system!

Oh.. should be noted that only the lock button works on my keyfob

Oh but on a more serious note - I've heard a few things about the crank sensor, is this something I should do as preventive maintenance if I'm planning on taking a lot of road trips or something this summer?

This is a great thread! I want my disco to run forever too. I also done both of those. Is it "bomb-proof" now?
