How do you mean? Did you bolt the TQ to the flywheel first and are attempting to stab into it? Or it won't slide on the input shaft of the transmission?

I just did this a few weeks ago and I only had to wiggle it a little to get it though the splines, but really no resistance installing it.

I realize this is an old post, but just had this exact issue on my '03 today and thought I would post what worked for me after having my *** kicked by this. Spent 20 minutes trying to reseat the converter with no luck at all. Eventually noticed that the stator inside the converter moves around a fairly significant amount. Whenever I would tilt the converter up to mate it to the input shaft, the stator would drop maybe 1-2mm and make it impossible to line everything up.

I ended up standing the trans up on the tail end and the converter went right it, in 5 seconds or less.

Hope this helps if someone else runs across this thread in a search. Seems some people have no problem with it, but if you do this method might be helpful.
