Default Towing Capacity
What's the towing capacity for a 03 Discovery II? I'm wanting to tow a boat, approx. 2500lbs. Would I need trailer brakes?

You will be fine with that weight, most owners manuals say 5500#s in high range is the limit with brakes. I have towed that weight without brakes and have been OK as long as I don't need to do a panic stop.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm still negotiating the price of the boat and the trailer brakes are a $500 add on. I want to be safe rather than sorry.
