Default Towing Small Trailer

Good morning!

I need advice/help please :-)

I want to purchase a small trailer that I can haul bales of hay in, not more than 3-4 at a time, at most. I understand electrical is different, what do I need to do? How difficult is it to change the electrical on a trailer so it is compatible?

Is there a write up somewhere that I can follow? i searched and cannot locate anything. I have a great mechanic who will help, if needed.

Thank you in advance!!

Cammy

You can get this> Land Rover Trailer Wiring Kit (Part # 9439C)
etrailer.com sells kits as well.

That kit noted above is simple plug in and mount and is easiest option. If you want to save a $100, buy a $15 "taillight wiring converter " from Walmart, Amazon, Autozone, etc.

These kits, like the Reese 74209, are spliced into the truck harness at the plug mentioned in the video above. Imports have different turn signal /brake lights than North American vehicles and must be converted with these kits. The plug in kit above is a converter with a factory (expensive) plug attached to it(no splicing needed).

These come with a flat 4way trailer plug which is designed for the smaller trailers and exactly what you need if your trailer has lights.

I've done that, too messy and impossible to clean. I buy 4 at a time and 1. Cannot fit 4 and 2. Not making two trips. Its my daily driver and I'd like to keep Old Blue looking nice :-)
