Default Track Rod Diff Bracket

Track Rod (located behind the front diff - rear of the front wheels). Does there exist such a thing for the DII? I have the mounting holes in the diff, but no bracket. Quick search on the RAVE didn't show it. Neither do the infamous part suppliers. Does anyone have one on their truck? What is it's purpose?

My 90 has one. I think all of the diff housings are pretty much the same, but the steering arms are quite different from model to model.

Some of the bolt on diff guards will use those holes.

And I don't really know what it's for.

I saw one on a D90. Just was curious what its purpose is. I plan to add diff guards so I keep those holes open. Happy 4th! Go 'Merica!

Are you referring to the holes on the flat part on the back of the rear diff?

Front and rear diff are the same. So on the front of my d90 there is a bracket bolted on that flat area that goes around one of the steering rods

Sorry, I meant on the back of the front diff, it's on the front of the rear diff also. There's a few diff guards that wrap around the track rod.

Default D2 track rod video

According to Jim at Atlantic British and as he shows in this video, yes D2 has it. It is right behind the front axle,,, and in front of the axle is the drag link.

I found this vid because I need to replace both in my truck.

The only thing I can think of is that if you were to hit the rod on a big rock, that bracket would limit how much it can bend in one direction.
