Have you put fresh 85 W 140 in both diffs? I agonized over this for a while, as Rave call for 75 W 90, but when I finally did it I was happy I did. I didn't really have a clunk, but it quieted and reduced vibration with the fresh, heavier oil.

Yup, 85w140 in tcase and both diffs for some time now. If two if you had this clunk and not long after list your front diff, Zach, what can I look for in the diff to check for problems?

Have you gotten under the truck and pushed it forward and backwards? How much does the front shaft spin before the truck moves? Mine would move one way, then after around a full rotation would start spinning the other way...

The clunk is normal up to a certain degree. It is determining the degree the tough part. All Land Rovers have a clunk but if it is above normal than it is a sign that something is wrong with the drive line. Change the fluids in the T case, both diffs, inspect and grease both drive shafts, and while you are at it check your rotoflex. A bad rotoflex can also cause a clunk.

my 2001 DII also dose the clunk. 155 kms on it. I first noticed it when your let off the gas then back on quickly. I had the front shaft out to inspect and service it and had the CDL engaged to move the truck. with the CDL on and the truck in park there is play in the front ouput.

I just installed a new rear driveshaft with u-joints. I dumped the rotoflex. Mine was pretty beat up (threads were coming apart and it was totally out of round). I have no more clunk. I had a clunk this morning on the way to my old mana shop but didn't have it driving home from the shop after installing the rotoflex conversion. That centering pin was a motha fuc$er to remove!!! Pics coming soon. I broke the pin out of the flange trying to remove with the torches.
