The clunk is normal up to a certain degree. It is determining the degree the tough part. All Land Rovers have a clunk but if it is above normal than it is a sign that something is wrong with the drive line. Change the fluids in the T case, both diffs, inspect and grease both drive shafts, and while you are at it check your rotoflex. A bad rotoflex can also cause a clunk.

I just installed a new rear driveshaft with u-joints. I dumped the rotoflex. Mine was pretty beat up (threads were coming apart and it was totally out of round). I have no more clunk. I had a clunk this morning on the way to my old mana shop but didn't have it driving home from the shop after installing the rotoflex conversion. That centering pin was a motha fuc$er to remove!!! Pics coming soon. I broke the pin out of the flange trying to remove with the torches.
