Default Transfer case out in my 04 DISCO HELP QUICK!

Just told by my dealer that my transfer box is out. It's making a knocking noise when accelerating the above 20 mph some vibration. They want to charge me over $3,500 for a new one. Where can i get a used or remanufacture one. Help please.

Double check to make sure it isn't just your front driveshaft. The u-joints are non servicable and right newt to the cat, they fail. Common problem...

Roverland is nice because they rebuild them. But they are pricey for being used.

Ditto, should upgrade to greasable u-joints anyway, so start here and see if that solves problem. I trust dealers as far as I probably can throw that transfer case.

Get in touch with Disco Mike. I remember he had a transfer case from an 04 or knew of one available anyway. Maybe it is still available. If it is I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper than any of the shops mentioned.
