transfer case shifting from hi to lo
LR uses thread lock on every single nut and bolt when they put the trucks together.
Lo range, either locked or unlocked, will almost double your tourqe output to the wheels.
Lo is good for speeds less than 35mph where lots of power is needed.
You can drive at any speed with the CDL locked in hi but you cannot drive on dry pavement with it locked.

That is some of the best thread lock I have ever encountered. Too bad Triumph didn't use it on their old motorcycles. Can't believe I snapped to bolts on that one. This has been the easiest vehicle I have ever worked on. Well, except for broken bolts on this last project.
The LR is new to me. It is my nature to fix everything, down to the light bulbs in the switches. Even though there is snow out there I wanted to get Lo working before the summer. I read about locking the diffs on dry pavement. Since the truck is new to me I don't know how it is going to handle at the boat ramp. I thought it would be smart to make sure Lo worked before I back it up for the first time. Ever see a truck pulled into the water? Can't imagine the Disco will have trouble but I just want to make sure I have all bases covered. Thanks for your help.
