Transfer Case Swap from 2004 into my 2003
Has anyone ever swapped an 04" transfer case w/CDL into a 2003 Discovery II? I want the center locking diff and I have a donor vehicle(2004 Disco II) just need to know is it a simple swap or is more involved. Thanks in advance!

I have an 03 with an 04 CDL/transfer case/shifter. Pretty much a direct swap. I left console sticker alone as I have an Ultragauge velcro'd over sticker anyways.
I did a recent offroad training day and played with CDL a lot. For sure helps with traction. I have a lot to learn for throttle control and how to approach things but the CDL helps out.

Please tell me more. I just had an 04 transfer case and shifter installed in my 02 and do not have an operational CDL light. I worked a deal and had a Rover shop do the install and have not had a chance to dig into what they have or have not done yet but have heard mention of adding a ground and jumper from a connector near the selector to the switch on the case. I have added the 03 000150 SLABS unit.

Hello all,
I have been searching high and low for a solution for my 04 Disco II. The transfer case shifter won't shift to neutral, low or locking low. I inspected the first solenoid just below the ****er and it works (the rod moves in when drive is engaged). I think my problem is the the second solenoid, but I can't find it and no info on the internet addresses an '04 disco II. Can anyone help. Also i have no good Land Rover mechanics nearby, the closest is over 30 miles away. thanks again.

alpinacsi, there is a light on the instrument cluster that will light up when the dif lock in the transferbox in locked, if you install the 2004 transmission wiring harness the light on the dash will come on when the dif is locked.
jimmyk, you will need to start a new forum thread but yes there is a large solenoid on top of the t-box
