Has anyone ever modified their DII to have a dipstick/filler tube on the tranny?

 

Some people without SAI have purchased a D1 pan with dipstick. I've never seen photos of after it was installed.

 

Wow, I may have to look into that. It sounds like a worthy mod.

 

That would be a great and welcome mod. The Pajero has a dipstick in the engine bay as standard so why no the LR, it must be a simple and considerate addition. I could possibly be because the modern vehicles are honed down to a price and also LR don't want people doing DIY as after sales servicing makes them big bucks at the main LR stealerships.

 

Never seen a Discovery I sump, but the shop manuals for I and II pictures attached could suggest that the Disco I dipstick tube could be fitted instead of the Disco II plug

 

DI and DII oil pans are the same with. If you want a pan and dipstick I have one left in stock. PM me and I'll give you details.
