Default Transmission fluid change

I understand that you cannot simply drain and refill the transmission fluid, that you'll only get about half (at most) out if you drain it.

What about the use of a vacuum extractor?

I'm coming up on the 60k service (at 58k+ now) and trying to get things sorted out to start the list.

Cheers!

the only way to get all the fluid out is to drain the torque converter. simply sucking the fluid out won't get it all. DiscoMike told me to drain and refill then drive it for a couple weeks. then drain it and change the filter and refill. the idea is to dilute and remove as much as you can.

Unplug the cooler line from the radiator. It will drain all the fluid out. Engine has to be on. Keep pouring fluid in until clear red fluid comes out of the cooler line.

The only way to get 100% of it out is by a machine that hooks to your cooler lines and while the engine is running you exchange the old for the new.
As long as you chan ge the fluid often (every 30,000 miles) all you need to do is a drain in fill and then a filter every 60,000 miles.
