transmission issue
When I start my disco and sometimes put it in gear without warming it up (in a hurry), it won't go into gear. Is this a typical torque converter problem like a domestic car?? Disco has 95,000 miles on it. don't know much about land rover trannies, would a torque converter change help?? Otherwise the tranny works fine.
Thanks,
Steve

No, not that it is wrong, but on a D2, you only change the filter at 30K after that it is just a fluid change by draining the pan and refilling.
How many miles on the truck? Are you sure your fluid level is correct, have you crawled under and pulled the fill plug with the engine running?

That was why I asked. Jiffy Lube told me my tranny fluid was bad in my Caddy. ( it was 30 degrees out and not worth changing the oil myself)I asked them how they checked and the technician admitted he lied. He had no idea how to check the tranny... Just making sure it was done by someone you trust.
This is also the reason I stand out in the shop while anyone touches one of my cars.

I understand fully. I am very mechanically enclined and usually do all of these things myself for that very reason. I will go check ASAP to find out and I will let you guys know. I appreciate the help
