Default Transmission STILL leaking

Ok, FMS, t-case, diff's, all resealed and not leaking a drop. But the transmission pan is killing me. It's a new pan, and new gasket. (old pan was damaged due to a front drive shaft failure) The thing is STILL leaking, from the drivers side rear. To be specific it's leaking and dripping on the nuts for the drivers side and drivers rear nut.

What's the trick here? Should I resort to RTV? Is the torque value on the rave cd wrong? should I check the mating surface on the trans to insure it's level?

If you tightened them to spec then go back and snug the leakers up a half turn a day until it stops.
It should only take one or two half turns to get it to stop, if not then there is something else going on with the gasket.

Have you checked the flange for plumb? The driveshaft could have warped the transmission casing itself, not just the pan.

I'm worried about this as well, if it doesn't stop after today and tomorrows torquing I'm going to remove the pan and check that the surface is flush.

I suppose if it's out I'm going to be looking for a new transmission case, or just a transmission I suppose.

Or just try to RTV it.

I hate to go that route, it's almost bound to start leaking again.

People seem to have good luck with RTV gaskets on oil pans.

I repaired my leaking front main seal 2 years ago with RTV.
