I am very interested in joining the landrover family and were looking at buying a 03 DISC but I heard that a brake job for the landrover disc is very exspensive and you can't just fix one wheel ,all four need to be done at around a grand per wheel .Is there any truth to this.

Whoever told you that is full of BS, and is hoping to make a ton of money off of you, or has spent WAY too much on their brakes. LR brakes are brakes just like any other. I had the rear two done at one time, and then I did the front ones myself several months later. Even with the purchase of a new rotor and caliper for one side, the whole AXLE cost me less than $500. More like $350. Don't let anybody rip you, and don't take it to the dealer unless you have to for warranty stuff and it's covered.

I had a feeling my buddy was full of sh$# but it doesn't hurt to ask. Okay ,my second question is
Does the landrover disc have to run on high grade gas only or can it run on low to medium grade without engine knocking and/or worse

Land rover recommends premium gas but many on this forum run plus and some even regular. I'll tell you this if money is good and you don't mind spending the extra 10 cents or more for gas do it but if money is kinda of low and can't really afford it than by all means get lower gas the rover engine has a computer to retard the lower grade gas and prevent knocking however you made not get the mileage or performance you want and it will bulid up carbon after a while.[sm=icon_rock.gif]

I run mid-grade in my 2000, simply because I've found that I get some knock from regular. You get a minor boost in mileage, but not much.
When you think about it, you generally only pay about $2.00 more per tank for mid over regular, and $2.00 more for premium over mid, so the price doesn't ever really become a HUGE issue. Use what you're comfortable with.
