Default True or False

When I bought my disco the dealer (not an LR dealer) told me that when the key was in the ignition and the car was on it recharged itself. He said if the keys started to lose power to put them in when I go on long drive instead of just switching to the other key. I have not noticed any change as a matter of fact the battery on the key is dying out. Is what he told me true, and if not, how can I replace the key battery without going to LR?

What a line of BS he fed you. The only thing you can do is replace the FOB battery if it is started to wear down.

give him a call and say that the key recharger is not working and could he order you a new one.....see what he comes up with then......seriously go to wal mart and get a new battery the old one has a number on it...it tells you how to change it in your owners manual....

That is actually very funny. I would really question the guy's IQ for being able to come up with such BS.

HAHA thanks guys. Like I said he wasnt an LR dealer so someone may have told him that. He was like one of those pimp car dealers who wore the fancy suit and shiny shoes. But I will give him that he sold me a high quality 2000 Disco SE7, 89,000 miles for $8,000 extremly clean and only the front two seats were sat in ever. But that little key story (and my owners manual was stolen from the lot) would make me NEVER go back to him again. Thanks for the input folks!
