Default Trying to figure out what (if anything) I broke while messing with the ABS

I replaced my shuttle valve switch today, to get better access, I removed the brake lines from their brackets up against the firewall. I don't know if this hard plastic tube was attached to something that I broke off, or if it's supposed to be like that (e.g. bleeding off something or other). I can't find anything in the RAVE, probably because I have no idea what to search for.

Here's are a couple pics, the tube in context and a close up:

That is a vent line for the transmission, the front differential, or the transfer case. It is supposed to be open like that.

You say you replaced the shuttle valves switches. Did you also do the Option B bypass?

Funny you ask. Since the codes and lights came back, I’m currently at Home Depot shopping for butt connectors and silicone 😀

There are many ways to do Option B. Butt connectors wouldn't be my first choice, but okay. But what's the silicone for?

In case I give up on the butt connectors and solder instead.

I noticed some bare copper around the old switch's solenoids. I might also put a dab on preventively.

That's one of the two switches. And I guess the orange thingy isn't a solenoid... Actuator pad maybe? I need an EE to step in and correct terminology 🤣

Ah. The perspective of the first photo made it look like the switch was a lot bigger than it actually is.

I've never removed the individual switches from the black "frame" in which they are mounted. And the orange thingy is just the material that covers (and protects?) the connections within the switch assembly. You can see it was likely applied as a liquid that then cured to a solid state.

But I'm confused. In your first post in this thread you wrote "I replaced my shuttle valve switch today ...". Did you replace it with another used SVS assembly?

I've seen and seen reported recently more cases of the insulation on the wiring inside the switch assembly having deteriorated or disintegrated entirely. Given the way the wiring in the SVS assembly is routed and protected, it's not clear to me it's actually needed. That said, a guy here whom I helped a few months ago with his Option B fix elected to buy a new SVS assembly.
