Default T'was the night before Disco...

Guys- tomorrow MAY be the day when I become a Discovery owner. I remember when I was an IT worker 5 years ago, looking at the white Discovery that I had set as my laptop's wallpaper- I never imagined I'd be owning one this soon.

I have given up all hopes of getting any work done today, and I'm going to go back out and keep cleaning the garage so she doesn't get dusty in there!!!

[at this point, Disco2Fever emits a girly squeal, but is too excited to become embarrassed.]

Congratulations.... I FINALLY became a Disco owner two weeks ago... I had wanted one since I drove my dads in HS back in 2000... Once these things get in your blood they never get out.

What are the specifics of yours? color/year etc.

There's a white 2000 with 45k miles that I'm looking at first, and if that doesn't work out, there's a black 2004 nearby the first with 56k miles- BUT, the black one doesn't have sunroofs.

Lol. I'm not joking. No sun roofs.

If neither of those work out, or if I decide I can't live without sunroofs, I'll be getting a gray 2000 with 85k miles... but 45k on the engine.

Man, I really have a lot of work to do...

All of those are great colors... those were theones I had it narrowed down to (and silver)

I ended up with a black 04 with 40K.

Are you getting any of them certified?

is the one without sunroofs an "S"?

Good Luck

S is the base model... it doesnt have fog lights, has smaller wheels, doesnt have piping in the interior, along with a few other things (sunroofs apparently).

There are also SE and HSE They are both the same except the HSE has different wheels, (which I dont like as much as the hurricane double spoke looking wheels on the SE) Navigation system (which I heard was somewhat useless being that it only showed text) and I think it included the bumper sensors which beep when you are about to hit something (again something I didnt think neccessary).

This i know about the 03-04 models, i wasnt looking into anything older, I am not an expert on these things its just what I knew. It all depends on what you are going to use the car for and whats important to you. Personally if you sit an S and an SE right next to each other the SE looks much better. The HSE looks the same from the outside except the wheels are different. For me I had I gone with an S, it would have driven me nuts to see an SE on the road. If you are going to be using the car for off roading then the S will suffice, if looks and details are important you may want to at least compare the two.

I spent a year looking for the right one.... I am pretty picky though (in case you couldnt tell)

Wow, I did NOT know that- thank you!

The guy at the dealer told me it was ordered special like that, and he'd never seen a Disco without sunroofs.... what a crook!

THANKS AGAIN.

The White is indeed an SE- I will do some more last minute looking as well!

THANKS bro!

Pat

Nick, you're the:

If neither of those work out, or if I decide I can't live without sunroofs, I'll be getting a gray 2000 with 85k miles... but 45k on the engine.
I've already ruled out the black one as a possibility.

Hey- if the white one isn't perfect, when's the soonest you'll be ready?

As I said friend, my DII would have been waiting for you today!

As for miles, 75k on chasis and either 30 or 35k on motor (have to check my maintainace log to be precise).

Good luck on whatever you do.

Nick
