Ultragauge MPG (V2.0)
If it takes an input from a wheel speed sensor, I would press them all in to make sure you are getting good signals from them. If they back out, the signal will be weak and sometimes go to zero.
You definitely could be on to something as the Amigos are currently on. I know the fix, but just need to order the part. I’ll have to get that before I revisit.
I’m really glad I started this thread as I was about to update, but I may have my answer before I even implement a fix.
Quick update: I’ve ordered MAF (of course a bit of a delay in getting it) as well as the offending WSS that is causing the Amigos. I’m just waiting on the parts.
Well, my summer daily was taken out recently by a suicidal deer and while I’m waiting for that to get fixed, the Disco has more or less been pressed into regular service. Driving this morning, the instantaneous MPG reading consistently stayed at zero.
I was about to reiterate my question regarding why this would ever be at zero and I’m thinking based on reading my own thread the new MAF and WSS will sort it.
Once those parts come in I’ll update here and see if that resolved it.
However, one counter: I’m getting 16-17+ mpg right now on measured reading by mileage from the ODO and how much fuel I put in.

You're overall mph is what my torque pro says the little lady gets in her dd disco 2 with 33s and 4 inch lift. She doesn't drive it with a light foot. I've never calculated it my the odometer, I'd rather not think of how much she spends in fuel every week
I've said this before but the UG doesn't really have a real time MPG sensor... It relies on several factors that are not entirely accurate... A: you manually input the amount of fuel you use... B: Odometer is not accurate, usually off by 5% with stock tires. C: Tire size adds to the inaccuracy... I did the math on this once and found it to be more accurate to do with a GPS app and known distance traveled and known volume of fuel used (by filling up after driving known distance.) With all the potential errors it is easy to be off by as much as 20%. If that matters at all to you.

All good points. Parts should be here on Monday and hopefully some time this week I’ll get them in.
But here is the next issue before I can get smart on this stuff: guess what the date stamp on the rear tires is? ‘07. So I’ll have to keep driving the Jeep for a bit until I can swing new tires. And that of course is going to screw up everything since I’m getting slightly larger tires. Ah well, I’m fortunate enough to have other vehicles, so I think it’s all kinda funny. At some point I’ll get the Disco to a good state…
