BTW, I used something similar (link below) on the '72 Chevelle I re-did a few years ago. It worked great on the floorboards and A arms. But this system would probably last a lot longer.

The ultimate is replacement of the frame with a galvanised chassis. Failing that, preparation is king but extremely difficult on top of the frame. Most frames rust from inside out and the D2 is no exception. Where possible water jet inside the frame 'legs' ensuring all drain holes are cleared, wait for it to dry and inject oodles of chassis wax inside the frame, Dinitrol is good. Then start on the frame exterior, remember, preparation is king, so remove all the loose rust and paint, where possible pressure jet wash the frame and then let it dry thoroughly, apply whatever chassis primer, paint or under seal you choose, there are hundreds to choose from who all claim to have magical properties
go figure

I've been looking into rustproofing my Discovery due it now becoming 7 years old and still in good working order. However, having the vehicle professionally treated is pretty costly with the cheapest quotation received being £573. I have been also looking at the DIY kits that Dinitrol sell are they easy to apply yourself? dinitrol kits I don't want to spend £200 and end-up not protecting the vehicle correctly and wasting my money

Thanks, I was looking for such a solution. Although my California D2 has no rust and only sees salt once or twice a year for a few days (if at all), it would be a good idea to extend its lifetime.
