Default Unknown antenna

Good day all, I've been working on my newly acquired 03 Discovery. I have the headliner down to repair some roof damage and water leaks. At the rear of the roof there is what looks like the remains of some kind of antenna. The truck does not have the factory radio, so I'm not sure what it is. The wire is wrapped in a foam insulation and runs down the drivers side. See pics.

The radio antenna is incorporated into the rear side screen and the photo you show is the GPS satnav antenna which connects to the small block on the D2 roof.

Anthony,

If you plan on ever changing out your aftermarket radio for a new one take the time to map out the wiring on the old radio and label what's in your Rover. The wiring for the SatNav radio systems is configured differently than 99.97% of the radio wiring diagrams that you will find online and from places like Crutchfield.

I spent about 6 weeks of reading all over the d@mned web to enable my new Sony with bluetooth to be wired up properly so that I could control it with the steering wheel controls and for it to behave properly.

So if someone has done the research and wired it up where it's working properly don't throw that away if you choose to upgrade at some point!

Enjoy the new ride and when you have questions just come here. Nicest people you can meet anywhere and the knowledge pool is simply amazing!
