For the first time in a long time, my engine stand is empty...and l'd like to keep it that way for a bit. Granted, l have a 4.6 disassembled under the work bench for a spare. Maybe, if there's another lockdown...who knows.

Looks like things are coming along nicely.

Nothing fancy on this one, just a basic refresh with bearings, rings, seals, in a super nice 03 HSE. She had an oil pressure issue and I had a spare engine so I thought let's do a complete rebuild and swap. The spare engine was in great shape really but the "while I am here" took over. Going to get all the normal Extinct upgrades (pcv mod, inline thermostat, headliner, sunroofs, cowl, bumper, fender flare refinish) and a completely new cooling system, starter, and CPS. Should have her ready for a new owner in about 1-2 months. Has Bilsteins up front, GPS factory radio, and converted coils in the back. NC truck so no rust of course. Amazing thing - zero roof clearcoat fading so she has been a garage queen. Super nice...

What’s your method to fender flare refinishing?

I sand them smooth and then refinish with a bedliner material. It's more UV resistant than the oem plastic - 20yrs advancement in materials and all.
