Default UPDATE! It's getting louder..

At around 70-75 mph, whenever I push the accelerator softly, I get a louder than normal high high pitched noise! I have had it before, but now it's just alot louder! Would you mind helping me out?

Thanks!!

John-Robert

UPDATE!: Let me also exaplin what has been recently fixed on the truck. That MIGHT explain something..

In the past three weeks, this has been done:

- Left Idler Pulley
- Right Idler Pulley
- Acc. Belt tensioner Assembly
- Oil Pan Gasket
- Front Main Seal
- Rear Main Seal
- Valve Cover Gasket
- Rear Left Window Regulator (needs to go back in because that wasn't correctly fixed)
- Power Steering Return hose
- Power Steering Suction hose
- Intake Plenum Gasket
- Axle Seal
- AT Rear Seal
- Sunroof Seal
- Exhaust Manifold gasket
- Oil Filter
- Mobil 1 0W-40 Fully Synthetic Oil

$2,415.24- Warranty took care of

$458. 53- Out of pocket..

Would that explain the louder noise?? and also, no, my driveshaft has not been rebuilt yet.

Check your fluids in the front and rear diffs, then move to the transfer case. They are pretty easy to check if you have a 1/2" drive ratchet. Another possibility is you front drive shaft.

The direction of the sound is coming from the front of the vehicle. You can hear it outside as well as inside the vehicle.

Also... how could you check the fluids?? What fluids would need to be replaced?

I am so mechanically challenged, it's not even funny, so any help would be great! Thanks!!

Whichaxle sealwas replaced? On your front and rear diffs, when parked on a level surface, take out the plug that is about halfway up on the casing. It should be right at that level. I am not positive you have a 1/2" drive plug on an 03, it might be a plastic plug....If so, be careful. You might not want to mess with it if you don't have a spare. I know you are a ways away from anything.

I would take it back to whoever serviced the truck and tell them you have a loud whining now.
