Hello all,
I was recently in a accident. This lady clipped my left rear bumber and bent the body and stock bumber. In total, it's about 1900 in damages. The problem is, her insurance isn't going to pay the deductible and I don't have 500 bucks hanging around so I decided to do as much as I can with 1400 bucks. That being said, i am going to replace the rear bumber myself with a steel one that about 400 bucks. What would everyone recommend I do with the remaining 1000?
BTW the quarter panel just needs to be pushed out.

Save it...for all the things that are going to break.

When I’ve been hit by someone else I never paid a deductible. I got whatever $$$$ from their insurance to fix it. Now if you caused the damage yes you pay your insurance deductible, but when you’re not at fault you shouldn’t have to pay a dime!

I’d put the leftover $$$$ away for maintenance, or tires, or a front bumper.

I know what's supposed to happen when someone hits you...

Calm down lol, I wasn’t tossing you under a bus for being forest gump.

I’d get a set of metal bumpers F/R and save the rest unless your D2 needs something like a headliner, or tires.

I know. It's just extremely frustrating. She lied to her insurance and now it has to go to arbitration or I can sue her ***!
I was thinking tires but I need to do some more research and see if the tires I want will fit on the stock rims. Plus I'll need a bit of a lift and I want to put the air bags back on the rear.

I've been hit twice now by people with too little or no insurance.

I would suggest you look into front and rear "dash cams" for your Rover. Wife and I have them in our cars because of other drivers. When I rebuilt my Disco, the cameras where a part of the budget.

That's a good idea. How do they work? Are they always on?

https://www.blackvue.com/ is the brand I have used.

There are options for how to use them. I run them with ignition switched power. Car on = cameras on.

There are other options to run them always on and you can do this with an inline devise that will cut the power if your battery is getting low.

Lots of brands and models out there. I found the Blackvue ones to be easy to install and they are very low touch. Once and while re-formatting the SD memory card is a good idea, but that is true of any of these cameras.
