Default Upholsterer in NYC area?

1997 Dicsovery in great shape with low miles (77k)....but sagging headliner. I don't have the time or space to do a proper job.

Anyone know a quality but reasonably priced auto upholsterer in the NYC area?

TIA

i wont put fabric on it, but i will paint it any color you want. i'm in westchester and you could catch the metro north back to grand central. $200. you can see how i did mine in the HOW TO section under paint a D2 headliner. more and more people paint them so they dont have to deal with the fabric ever again.

That is a great offer...but I don't think paint will fly with the wife. She'll be after me to buy a new car....ugh.

My biggest worry is really fouling up the trim pieces while trying to remove them. I presume that gluing fabric is not really all that difficult....though maybe i'm wrong. I understand paint removes the problem forever but that won't work for me.

The trim pieces are relatively easy. Download the Rave manual and look through it. It has all of the steps. The only thing you will probably tear up is the visor clips...they are cheap. I did mine without the manual and had never glued one on. You will need 60" wide material and 2 cans of adhesive. Use it all, spraying the backer and the fabric, then joining them. It took me about 4 hours total. It also helps to have another set of hands when removing the backer from the truck. I went back with black fabric to be different and really like the results.

do you have sunroofs? you could do it yourself if you took a day off work and found someone to do the fabric work for you. shouldnt take more than an hour to remove, hour to prep and an hour to replace. my offer still stands, check out my pics it looks pretty damn sharp

Two sunroofs. And your offer is really quite generous...but that pesky wife of mine...grrrrr.

You folks are making me brave now. Maybe I'll give it a shot this spring.

Do it! You will have a good sense of accomplishment and save yourself some coin. Sunroofs are easier to lay the fabric in. The middle where it archs up is the hardest part.
