I tried to remove my front hub nuts and broke my favorite breaker bar that I have had forever. To unscrew the front hub nut is it counter clockwise (lefty loosey)?

I had my wife in the cab standing on the brakes but it was still moving a bit. I am at a loss here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

 

Counter clockwise like a normal nut. I was able to remove the ones from a parts truck with an air impact.

 

My impact wouldn't budge these I think they are going to need a serious torch.

 

I have the 16" rims and I popped the center cover out and put the tire back on and put it back on the ground. Then you can use an exension and place it through the hole in the rim and on the nut. No need to have anyone stand on the brakes, etc. You will have all the leverage you need. You did straighten out the dimple in the axle nut, right?

If you don't have air tools and can't seem to loosen the nut with your normal breaker bar go find a 4 or 5 foot pipe and follow this guys instructions.

 

Thanks man, I figured that one out and yet I broke TWO...TWO breaker bars on this thing including my favorite one, I am pretty pissed right now. I am going to need a torch to get this thing off which I do not have.

 

Drive to a shop and have a guy break the nut loose with his 600 ft lb ingersol/rand composit e impact wrench for 5 bucks, then drive home. ur welcome.

That's what I did, there is a shop right around the corner from me (Although he may hit me up for a little more than $5). Anyway I am getting a little frustrated with this vehicle....rant to come.
