Default URGENT: Parked in side of road. M S lights flassing

Hey....sitting on side of road. Pulled over after the green M S lights started flashing and the red battery light on. Anyone know what this means?
Thanks,
Scott

You can't know for certain without getting the transmission trouble codes read but that combination sounds like a failed alternator or battery.

Alternator was replaced Mar 2015...battery was replaced Nov 2015.

I had this once and it was either a poor ground connection, bad battery, or both. Multimeter the battery if you can, check the ground points, clean battery cable leads and battery posts.

Do you have a meter you can check the voltage while running?
Also, did it go into Limp mode? What gear was it only in if it was in limp mode?

Yep vehicles now days will go a bit psycho if it's not getting good voltage to the main electronic fuse blocks or on board computers.

I had an 04 D2 that showed all sorts of S&M faults back in the day. I took it in under warranty and they replaced the XYZ switch but the faults still came back, I was just living with it as LR Houston couldn't find it. Then one day I had to jump start it, and I found the battery terminals loose, and corroded. I cleaned them up, and tightened them and the faults never re-appeared.

Hope you got it fixed. This happened to me once going through a bumpy stream and it was my battery cable that had popped up a little bit, wasn't secure enough. May even only be a slight bit up, still can cause a weak connection

I was getting this and it turned out to be my Crankshaft Position Sensor. I know that flies in the face of all the things it should be (those lights are saying electrical problems), but as soon as the CPS was replaced they ran away.

+1 on loose battery connections. I had the M+S lights flash and truck in limp mode after I messed with the battery terminals. Turns out one of them didn't tighten all the way down.
